If Inland Revenue issue you with a notice to make a return of your taxable income and capital gains, you are required, by law, to do so. For the tax year from 6 April 2019 to 5 April 2020, HM Revenue & Customs must receive your return, if filing using a paper return, by 31 October 2021. Online, by 31 January 2021. Notices will, usually, be issued on 6 April 2020.
